Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Presents Check for $16,018 to Tapper's Coat Drive
Tapper's to purchase over 700 new coats with donation
Less than one week after families gathered around the holiday table for feasts of Thanksgiving and gratitude, two Detroit-area businesses came together to demonstrate the power of partnership and giving.
For the first time this year, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney's Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills and Troy offices partnered with Tapper's Diamonds & Fine Jewelry, pledging to raise $7,500 for the family-owned jeweler's 20thannual Coat Drive. More than doubling its goal, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney presented a check for $16,018.20 to members of Tapper's executive team on November 30th.
The Tapper's Coat Drive, which took place from October 17 to November 18, has collected and distributed over 2,000 gently-used coats, hats, scarves, gloves and boots for local citizens and organizations in need. The donation from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney will be used to purchase approximately 700 new coats that will be donated to a variety of non-profit agencies in the greater Detroit area.
