Why would I need a jewelry appraisal?

You may seek out jewelry appraisal for a few different reasons. Most commonly guests request appraisals for insurance documentation, however, sometimes documentation is needed for estate planning, probate or divorce purposes, and donations.

What is included in an appraisal report?

An appraisal report includes testing of the metal and stones, measurement and calculation of carat weights, photographs, a description of the piece, and its current market value; all professionally documented for your records.

How often should I get my jewelry appraised?

We recommend getting your appraisals updated every 3-5 years for the most accurate value of your item.

Can I bring multiple pieces in to be appraised?

Yes, you can bring in multiple items for appraisal. We recommend leaving your items with us for a detailed evaluation and we will provide you an estimated timeline once we determine the scope of the project.

Which of your locations provide appraisals?

We currently offer appraisals at our West Bloomfield and Novi locations. However, guests can drop off their pieces at any of our 3 locations and our team of
expert appraisers will be happy to prepare the documentation. Most often our guests will be able to pick up their items within a week.

Can I just walk in to get an appraisal?

While we do take walk-in drop-off appraisals at any time, we would highly recommend setting an appointment at our West Bloomfield or Novi
locations if you prefer to wait while your items are appraised.

How much does an appraisal cost?

Jewelry appraisals start at $150 for the first item and an additional $100 for each additional item. However, we offer discounted rates for pieces we have previously appraised, items purchased from us, and items currently being serviced by our repair team. Timepiece appraisal prices may vary.
