Congratulations to Special Olympics Michigan!

We’re proud to announce that Special Olympics Michigan has been selected as the winner of the 2025 Cutlass Giveaway! Thank you for taking the time to vote for one of our chosen charities to receive Howard’s classic Oldsmobile Cutlass. After an incredible response from the community, we’re thrilled to honor an organization that exemplifies inclusion, empowerment, and lasting impact.
The winning organization was revealed live on 104.3 WOMC and at the Woodward Dream Cruise on Saturday afternoon, August 16th—a fitting celebration for a cause that drives change across Metro Detroit.
Special Olympics Michigan will now receive this iconic vehicle, symbolizing the community's support for their mission to provide year-round athletic opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Thank you again to everyone who participated and helped us shine a light on such meaningful local work. Your vote made a difference.
It all started with a dream—and a Cutlass.

In 1977, Howard Tapper sold his cherished Oldsmobile Cutlass to fund a bold vision: opening the very first Tapper’s Jewelry store in Southfield, Michigan. That sacrifice was the spark that launched a legacy.

Decades later, his son Mark set out on a heartfelt mission to track down that very same Cutlass—a symbol of passion, perseverance, and family. He found it. And now, Howard wants it to do even more good.

To honor the journey and give back to the community that made it all possible, Howard donated the Cutlass to one deserving Metro Detroit charity. You helped us by nominating your favorite causes and lent us your voice for the final vote.

Thank you to everyone who voted to help us choose the recipient of Howard’s classic Cutlass. We’re excited to announce that the winning organization is Special Olympics Michigan!
